Horn Book Summer Reading

We've pulled together our annual recommendations for summer reading. As ever, we present books we hope will spur purely recreational reading, which to my mind is the kind of reading most worth doing. I hope you find something your charges will like.

For myself, I'm deciding between a Graham Greene tear and a Henning Mankell fest. My finishing of Mankell's The Return of the Dancing Master overlapped with my starting Greene's The Heart of the Matter as well as, come to think of it, an embarkation on TV of Line of Duty. I am not sure I'll be able to keep juggling these three, as it's too easy to confuse their stories, all of which running along the lines of okay, sure, it's the crime but the coverup is way worse. Their lips to God's ear!
