Happy New Year

Happy New Year, everybody. I hope you got some good reading done over the holidays. Me, I shuttled among Tim Mohr's Burning Down the Haus (a history of punk rock in East Germany), Ruth Ware's The Death of Mrs. Westaway, and Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, those latter choices, each about a poor cousin come to stay at a fabled English manse, too readily confusing me about which century I was in.

The January issue is out, with our Fanfare choices and 2018 BGHB winners taking pride of place; Katie has also posted a summary of the Horn Book year, offering you a chance to review the recent past while preparing for the future. I have high(er) hopes.
